Assistant Project Engineer

Overall Purpose:
We are seeking a Project Engineer Assistant who can assist the South Region Engineer in the completion of project specific tasks. This position has a primary responsibility for conducting hydraulic analyses and writing reports for project deliverables. In addition to the Region Engineer the Project Engineer Assistant will work closely with Data Analysts and with Regional Project Management to create reports that answer customer’s most pressing needs for collection system management.

 
Responsibilities

  1. Supports Region Engineer in the completion of specific project tasks and deliverables. Typical projects include Infiltration and Inflow Analyses, Capacity Analyses and Recommendations, Sewer System Evaluation Surveys, and other reports.

  2. Works closely with Data Analysts to ensure quality of data delivered to clients.

  3. Works closely with other engineering elements to develop and optimize data presentation, data analysis, and data reporting techniques and methods.

  4. Responsible for assisting ADS to ensure Its reputation as the industry leader by writing and presenting approved technical papers at national and local trade shows and trade journals.

  5. Performs work which involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination requirements.

  6. Completes special projects as requested.

 

Requirements
SKILLS - Strong technical writing and technical presentation skills are a must. Computer literacy and analytical skills are required, with ability to quickly learn proprietary software systems. Must display basic understanding of hydraulics, with specific focus on open channel and pipe flow. Working knowledge of geographic information system (GIS) software preferred. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE – Bachelor of Science degree from an ECPD (Engineer’s Council for Professional Development) accredited curriculum, or equivalent. Either Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration or Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification is required, and 0-6 years of experience in civil/wastewater engineering preferred.
