Creative Writer (Internship)

** This internship is flexible; you can work remotely and start anytime. We ask for a 4-month commitment, and 20 hours per week, minimum. Please only apply if you have past experience in creative writing. **

About Givebutter

The mission of Givebutter is Eat. Sleep. Give. We aim to make giving a part everyone’s lives by providing the best possible fundraising experience online. Today, thousands of student organizations across the country use Givebutter to fundraise for every cause imaginable.


We are seeking a Creative Writing Intern to join our Creative Team (start date flexible, 20+ hrs/week). You’ll help us amplify the Givebutter brand through a variety of marketing and creative writing projects. You’ll also combine creative writing with strategic insights to craft inspiring and effective copy across a range of platforms, writing for our blog, our email newsletter, our website, and more. This position will report directly to the Chief Creative Officer in our Washington D.C. headquarters (Please note: We are accepting remote applications).

Job Responsibilities

  • Write and edit well-crafted blog pieces.

  • Curate our weekly Good Newsletter that provides an up-to-date, entertaining look at the good happening in the world to our thousands of subscribers around the country.

  • Blend our brand voice with messaging to create work that is consistent with our brand.

  • Combine strategic insights from our team with creative writing to create copy that is both engaging and entertaining.
