Forester/Agronomist

World Tree is looking for a forester/agronomist for an exciting position in a growing company.  As the Plantation Manager you will manage our farmers and plantations globally, with a particular focus on the Southern USA. The job includes:

 

•    Vetting farmers and land for suitability for tree planting

•    Advising and training farmers

•    Visiting plantations at all phases (from planting to timber)

•    Visiting mature plantations to assess timber quality

•    Seeking out farmers suitable for the program

•    Overseeing harvest of plantations

•    Travel across the USA and Central America

•    Advising management on best practices

•    Working with the World Tree farmer support team globally

 

LOCATION: Southern USA (e.g. Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia)

Requirements

 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work independently as well as in a team environment.

 

•    Graduate degree in forestry

•    At least 2-3 years experience in the field.

•    Experience with GIS

•    RPF designation preferred

•    Basic computer skills in Excel and Word

•    Good written and verbal communication skills

•    Ability and willingness to drive and travel

•    Experience with Paulownia is highly desirable but not essential
