Government Services Projects Associate

Location: Chicago, IL, with remote work possible
Type: Full-time
Salary: $45,000 – $50,000 per year

Description
When you think about elections, you might think about popular candidates, “I voted” stickers, and all sorts of paperwork and deadlines. But behind the scenes are thousands of election administrators in state and local governments who are working hard to make sure ballots are counted and voices are heard.
To serve every community and make democracy work, election administrators need practical, research-based approaches that can improve their operations. These include things like voter registration, resource allocation, and language access. As the CTCL Projects Associate, you will learn about the complex challenges that voters face and help election administrators address those challenges.
You’ll work with the Government Services team and report to the Senior Project Manager.
Responsibilities
This is a new position on the team, so there’s room for you to help shape what the job looks like.
You will:
  • Research: Identify needs and challenges in election administration through reading, interviews, surveys, and in-the-field research.
  • Write: Draft case-study articles, training materials, and reports for election administrators and CTCL’s project partners.
  • Train: Deliver election best practices in webinars, conferences, and small-group training sessions.
  • Publish website content: Format and publish content about election best practices and tools on WordPress sites managed by CTCL (ElectionTools.org & ModernReg.org).
