Finance & Accounting Internship - Spring 2021
OVERVIEW
As a Finance & Accounting Intern, you will work with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant to support our grants and financial reporting duties to both government and private donors. You’ll be trained in the use of financial management technology and apply those skills across projects.
In addition to receiving one-on-one mentorship, Nonprofit Finance Interns are also encouraged to participate in trainings on open source analysis and tools to learn about C4ADS’s mission and ethos.
PAST FINANCE & ACCOUNTING INTERNS HAVE:
- Prepared for the annual financial audit
- Analyzed project reports
- Processed invoices in our accounts payable systems
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist the with the preparation of grant reporting documents
- Process invoices and expense reports
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Organize and maintain records of financial transactions across the organization
- Gain exposure to grant making strategies for research and nonprofit organizations
- Provide office support for the Finance Department as needed
- Ad hoc accounting duties including a/p and a/r processing, 1099 processing, and audit support
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Dedication to our values and passion for our mission
- Previous finance or strategy experience in a nonprofit setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Undergraduate studies in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Proven interest in or experience with data and technology
- An independent spirit and dedication to diligence
