Departmental Manager 14 - Farmland and Open Space Program Manager
Job Summary:
This position serves as the first-line professional manager and subject matter expert for the Farmland Preservation and Open Space Program (MCL 324.36101 et. seq.) The Farmland Preservation and Open Space Program preserves more than 3.3 million acres of Michigan farmland and open space in Michigan. The manager in this position oversees: Permanent and temporary Conservation Easements on agricultural land, local open space easements; designated open space easements; and Agricultural Preservation Fund Board grants to local communities for farmland preservation. This position is key to agricultural sustainability in Michigan.
