[REMOTE] Summer Camp Instructor
This is a remote (work-from-home) position.
Rex Academy teaches Computer Science to kids ages 7 - 16. We are a small business with big dreams and a passion for Computer Science! We teach private classes in:
- 2D Game Development;
- Mobile App Development;
- 3D Modeling;
- Web Design;
- Python;
- Java;
- and Cybersecurity!
We are looking for people with a passion for equipping the next generation with technology skills for the future! This is an exciting opportunity to learn and teach Computer Science skills to kids as a Part-Time Instructor for our summer camps.
You may be a college student, college grad, or a full-time teacher just looking for something else to help add to your resume. We want people who are responsible, reliable, energetic, and patient with kids.
Classes are taught virtually through video conferencing software, and the curriculum is already made! You would just need to learn it and facilitate the classes!
Our instructors:
- Facilitate classes according to pre-designed coursework .
- Are responsible for keeping track of class attendance and student progress using our in-house Learning Management System.
- Keep parents updated with student's class progress and class progression.
- Help students debug/fix their code, and work with them to understand how computers think.
- Are responsible for their own teaching schedules, and working with parents and students on schedule changes.
What We Are Looking for:
- Must have a High School Degree or equivalent
- Must have reliable Internet access
- Must have access to a computer with a web camera and microphone
- Must have the communication skills needed to work in a remote environment
- Must have a sense of accountability
Optional Requirements:
- Should have at least some experience with computers or Computer Science, or want to learn Computer Science
- Should have some experience working with children, or enjoy being with children
- Teaching experience is a plus, but not required
- Customer service experience is a plus
